My mornings are sacred—hot tea, meditation, reflection, gratitude practice, reading, journaling. Its my favorite part of every day & I am ‘off’ if I go too many days without this time. Its a ritual I started about ten years ago as I began to teach yoga, and I’m so glad i did.
I get a morning email every weekday with a quote, often about productivity, organization or leadership, but this morning’s quote was this, “Most of us live our lives by accident—we live it as it happens. Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on purpose.” My morning practice does just that.
We can’t control our days (nor should we try) but starting each day in an intentional way helps us better ‘manage’ our days, and gives them flow.
I feel so strongly about this that I’m writing a book about it (and a few other things). It’s a compilation of beautiful words and practices that help us live our lives more fully. Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing more as the days unfold.
